Open for Business!

We opened one jar of bread and butter pickles today. Almost ate the entire jar. Crispy, tangy and crunchy, just the way we like 'em. I haven't made pickles before in my entire life and even though I'm giving myself a pat on the back... Dang! I can make some great pickles!

Needless to say, I'm guessing the floodgates have opened and we will be munching and crunching our way through our basement shelves now!!

Yummers! We just opened a jar of marmalade today and remembered how good it was when I made it.

Enjoy your pickles!

Mmmm! I'm planning on making some bread and butters next year. Is the recipe a family secret or can you share?

Congratulations on the first food unveiling :)

Yay! Pickles, yummy..... I remember my Grandmother having 5 gallon buckets of pickles all over the house when I spent the summers with her. I rescued her recipe when she died but haven't managed to get my hands on enough cucumbers to make pickles.

Did you make your darn pie yet??

This is off-topic, but I thought all of us APLS would want to know, Jena at Married To The Farm has just experienced a big fire on her farm. She has a post up, if you want to leave condolences for her.

So have you opened any more of those yummy jars?

In other news...I was just messing around this afternoon and all the sudden, I got tagged. I'm just sharing the love... You're it!

Mmm, sounds delicious! I made pickled peppers this year, first time in my life! I didn't have enough cucumbers to try pickling them. But peppers turned out really nice. We just recently opened a jar, and they were good! And we are still all alive ;-)
